I can still hear you screaming when I sleep
An echo from the urgent cries you spill
And after all these years
Now that there's no time left to keep
You can't stop the orphic pull
Widowed shadows won't hold me
In your heart my autumn burns
Will you be there to hold me?
Meet me where our paths crossed
In welling joy
In agony
In all we're meant to be
Distillation of our time
Every second drinks the last
There's no future and no past
Believe me
Bring the mountains to my feet
Whether wanted or denied
Aging temper crucified
Believe me
When you crawled into my life
All the wrong that became right
Crushing terror in its spite
Believe me
You can't stop the orphic pull
Widowed shadows won't hold me
In your heart my autumn burns
Will you be there to hold me down?
Without a constant reminder I forget
What brought me to this place
Who parted all the waves
I drifted to your shore
I thought I knew our path for sure
But it was washed away
Washed away
Hold to the promises in my soul
Awaken the lovers
But only to find what they stole
And retrace our footsteps
My heart is an anchor abroad
And I can't cut these wires
We're losing it
When god makes our plans
But we're choosing it
There's blood on my hands
And yours
You can't stop the orphic pull
Widowed shadows can't hold me
In your heart my autumn burns
Will you be there to hold me?
You can't stop the orphic pull
Your widowed shadows can't hold me
In your heart my autumn burns
Will you be there to hold me down?
This entire album is an awesome journey through a land of chiptunes. It evokes such wonderful feelings and memories for me and is a really well done album overall. Highly recommended. KingIsaacLinksr
Apart from the fact that 'Reach for the Stars' is a perfect example of everything I love about computer music, the whole album is just an absolute belter of a piece of work. The soaring pitch-bent melodies and arpeggios, the basslines that make me want to dig out Thunderforce IV and the fact that (I don't say this lightly) some of the arrangements and progressions remind me heavily of Tim Follin. An utterly exceptional piece of work. Pure gold. Remote_
The two epic tracks on the latest from BC group Lakeman are mind-melters, opening slow and pensive before erupting into near-doom metal. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 4, 2022
